At House of Adorn, we offer worldwide shipping, with express service available for most items. Please read below for information about our postage and shipping process and our policies. If you still have questions after reading this, you can always contact us by email or phone.

Here are answers to some of our most frequent inquires about shipping and postage.

Where do you ship, and how much will it cost?

We ship to most countries worldwide, and continually re-evaluate our shipping rates to provide you with the best options and value. For an accurate shipping quote, add the items you would like to purchase to your bag, and enter your city, country and postcode (if applicable) on the cart page to see your options.

Please note: For international orders, we do not collect import duty or customs charges on your behalf. If import duties/taxes are applicable for your order, you will be contacted directly by your local customs authority to pay these charges. 

When will you ship my order?

Once your order has been placed, we will typically dispatch your order within 1-2 business days of recieveing full payment. If an item in your order is out of stock or we need additional information to complete your order, we will contact you via phone or email prior to completing your order. 

Express Service
For most orders, you will have the option of selecting express service, which will ensure you recieve your order as quickly as possible. Orders placed with Express Service are shipped same-day (if placed before 12pm Melbourne time, or next-day otherwise), provided all items are in-stock, and are sent via our fastest shipping methods.

How long will it take to receive my order?

We use a variety of shipping services to ensure you receive your order as quickly as possible. If you have selected Standard Service, orders are typically dispatched within 1-2 business days, and are usually received in metro areas within 1-5 business days, or regional areas within 2-10 business days. For Express Service, orders are typically dispatched either same day or next business day, and received in metro areas within 1-2 business days, and regional areas within 2-5 business days. Orders with Dangerous Goods or Bulky Items may take more time to arrive.

Do you offer same-day delivery?

We may be able to offer same-day delivery in some circumstances. Please contact us to discuss your order.

What are dangerous goods or bulky items?

Some products - such as aerosoles, solvents and some glues - are classified as Dangerous Goods by shipping companies, and cannot travel by air. For these products, we offer a road courier service, though this is more expensive than the regular options. If you are purchasing Dangeous Goods alongside other items, consider placing two separate orders as this may work out cheaper than sending your whole order via road courier. Unfortunately, Dangerous Goods cannot be shipped outside of Australia at this time.

Some products - such as foam, hat boxes and some hat bases - are classified as Bulky Items. These products are often too large to travel by our usual shipping methods, and require special handling. If you are purchasing Bulky Items alongside other products, consider placing two separate orders as this may work out cheaper in some circumstances.

Do you ship to PO Boxes?

We use a variety of shipping partners to deliver your order, and not all of them deliver to a PO Box (or charge an extra fee for doing so). If you do not have a street address and require your order to be posted to a PO Box or Parcel Locker, please contact us to discuss your options.

I can't find my tracking number

We'll send you a tracking number via email once your order has been processed - usually within 1-2 business days. Please check your spam folder for our "Order Shipped" email, or log in to your account to access your order history. If you still can't find your tracking number, please contact us and our team will be happy to assist.

My package is late or missing

Please ensure you have checked your tracking number and are aware of the timeframe for the shipping option you selected. Unfortunately, occasional delays are ineviatable through the postal system, especially during peak periods. It is very rare for orders to get truly lost in the mail, and we usually find that delayed orders are sucessfully delivered within a few days of their original delivery estimate.

If your order has taken longer to arrive than expected, we recommend:

  1. First, check your tracking number for the most up-to-date status of your parcel.
  2. Ask your houshold members, neighbours or work colleagues if they have recieved a delivery slip or have accepted the parcel on your behalf.
  3. Check with your local post office to see if the parcel is being held there.
  4. Check with your postal service to see if there are any delays or incidents that may be affecting your delivery.

If you are having trouble tracking down your parcel, please contact us and we can assist with tracking information or lodging a claim with the postal service.

Please Note: Australia Post has advised that they will begin phasing out 'sorry we missed you' cards in June 2023. We recommend you check tracking regularly to stay up-to-date on the status of your shipment, and consider signing up for a MyPost account to track all of your deliveries. If you are ordering internationally, please note that customs clearance may also add an unavoidable delay to your order. 

Customs Duties & Tax Charges

International parcels are often detained by customs for inspection of the contents, to check paperwork, or to calculate the Custom Duties and/or Taxes payable. If there are duties and/or taxes due, then you should get notified by the relevant authority directly and often - only once the duties and/or taxes are paid - will they release your parcel for delivery. This process may take 2-5 weeks in some instances.

For the purpose of Customs and Border processing, you will be identified as the "Importer". As the "Importer" of our products, you agree that you are liable to pay any such applicable duties and/or taxes to the relevant authority in any jurisdiction imported to. It is your responsibility to determine whether any such duties and/or taxes apply in your destination country. In placing an order with us, you agree that House of Adorn are not liable to you with any expense you may incur from your obligation to pay taxes to the concerning authority. 

All online shoppers should be aware that all duties/fees and charges are different for different countries. We therefore recommend you identify if there are any Custom Duties or Taxes that apply for your country, so next time you will not be surprised or inconvenienced by any additional fees and/or charges. Also note that some countries enforce an order value limit before they start charging Custom Fees and Taxes, so it may be worth finding out what the order value limit is for your country. With this in mind, you can ensure the total value of each of your order is less than the limit so you are unlikely to incur any Custom Fees or Tax charges.
